What Plane? helps you view nearby aircraft relative to your device location.
1) Data We Collect
- Precise location (while using the app): latitude/longitude from iOS location services.
- Pseudonymous app user ID: a server-generated identifier used to fetch/update nearby-aircraft results.
- App preferences and widget cache (on device): selected units, last known location, widget snapshot data, plane image cache.
- We do not collect your name, email, contacts, photos, messages, or advertising identifiers for this app's core function.
2) How We Use Data
- To register/update your device location and return nearby aircraft data.
- To compute distance/bearing and render map/panel/widget content.
- To cache recent results locally for performance and widget display.
3) Data Sharing
- We share required request data with our backend API at: https://whatplane.lyriclingo.org
- Apple services may process data needed for platform functionality (e.g., MapKit).
- We do not sell personal data.
- We do not use third-party ad tracking SDKs.
4) Tracking and Advertising
- We do not track you across apps/websites for advertising.
- We do not use IDFA for ad targeting.
5) Retention
- On-device cached data remains until app deletion or app data reset.
- Server-side location/account records are retained only as long as needed to provide the service and security, then deleted or de-identified under our retention schedule ([choose and enforce a clear duration]).
6) Your Choices
- You can disable location access in iOS Settings at any time.
- You can request deletion of your server-side data by contacting: [lyriclingodev@gmail.com]
- Include your app user ID (if available) to help locate records.
7) Security
Data is transmitted over HTTPS and protected with reasonable technical and organizational safeguards.
